Bananarama, Jason Donovan, Steps, Sinitta and Sonia are set to perform in a PWL reunion concert to mark the record label’s 25th anniversary.
Hit Factory Live – which will take place in London’s Hyde Park on 11July – is to be headlined by 90s band Steps and will also feature performances by Dead or Alive, Rick Astley, Pepsi and Shirlie, and other marmite (love ‘em or hate ‘em) stars of the 80s and 90s. Tickets went on sale on Friday.
PWL owner and pop mogul Pete Waterman told BBC News:
“I’ve been saying no for years to a Hit Factory concert but now, 25 years on, the timing feels right.”
The concert’s organisers have hinted that a “very special duet” is set to make a return after 23 years. The rumour mill is already buzzing with Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan speculation.
So is this gig going to be Especially for You or the Last Thing on Your Mind? See what I did there… ok, I’ll stop. I can’t deny that I’m keen for a cheesefest in Hyde Park with a bottle of wine, rocking out to Dead or Alive’s You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) and some cringetastic Hazell Dean. Judge all you like. Click here for tickets to see the concert that will unite hen parties, gay men’s choral societies and anyone who remembers Pete Burns’ original lips.
