Have you ever got so fed up with your mean boss and the UK’s grey skies that all you want is to run away to the other side of the world? Seems like a pipe dream, but it doesn’t have to be thanks to Tourism New Zealand‘s exciting new campaign. They’re inviting visitors from half way round the world to go and find out what they have to offer; and, as an incentive, you can win a trip to New Zealand with 3 friends as well as $30,000. Take a look at what’s on offer:
Their campaign, Stories Beat Stuff, promotes the idea that experience s can be worth more than physical possessions. In order to enter the competition, all you have to do is send in a photo or video of an object you would trade to go to New Zealand. For me, this was a pretty simple decision (although don’t knock me for being lame): I would give up my One Ring from The Lord of the Rings so that I could really experience the country in which the films were made.
There are two trips up for grabs: City Splendor (featured in the video), a whirlwind adventure through New Zealand’s cities, where the focus is on Museums, architecture, shopping, eating and nightlife. The second experience is called Cultural Kaboom, which takes your group through the more rural delights New Zealand has to offer. I’m absolutely torn between the two (so, if they let me, I’m trying to enter an object for both trips!) – I’m a city dweller at heart, but my Middle Earth fantasy would take me through the countryside of Cultural Kaboom. What are you going to choose?
It’s dead easy to enter: simply visit the Facebook page and upload your video or photo. The entry with the most votes wins, so make it a great entry and get your friends voting. Have a vote for an entry yourself and you’ll also be entered into a draw to win the second prize – flights for two to New Zealand!
