Will Ferrell To Make Anchorman Sequel | TQS Magazine

It has been announced that Will Ferrell will be stepping back into the fine leather shoes of cringe-inducing newscaster Ron Burgundy for a sequel to comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

US actor Ferrell made the announcement in character on Conan O’Brien’s talk show this week. He revealed to the audience:
“I want to announce this to everyone here in the Americas, to our friends in Spain, Turkey, and the UK, including England, that as of 0900 mountain time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman”

The Press Association reports that director Adam McKay, producer Judd Apatow and co-stars Paul Rudd and Steve Carell are all expected to return for the sequel. It is yet to be confirmed whether Christina Applegate will be reprising her role as Veronica Corningstone in the film, which is set to be released in 2013.

We stayed classy, we waited and waited for the rumoured sequel to be officially announced and finally Ron Burgundy – and his ‘dirty whorish mouth’ – shall be returning to our screens. Comedy sequels can be disastrous, however, and it would be a great blow to the film if Applegate does not make a return as Burgundy’s co-anchor and love interest. In the words of Ron Burgundy at Channel 4 News, maybe she went back to her home on ‘Whore Island’.
