With the meteoric rise and sustained popularity of apps such as Instagram, it seems the desire to capture a moment has never been so easy. However, if you want to know more about photography than which filter to apply, The Guardian are including an 84 page guide in this Saturday’s paper for free with tips from their experts to help people of all abilities improve their knowledge.
It started back in October when they launched a competition inviting people to submit their photographs with the winner being chosen to be the cover image of the upcoming guide, we had a look through and chose our favourite as the headline image of this blog post (by Pete Hughes).
Inside the guide, you’ll find exclusive insight to the craft of Guardian and Observer photography experts. Head of photography, Roger Tooth, encourages you to take creative control of your camera; award-winning photographer Dan Chung recommends the lastest kit; critic Sean O’Hagan asks where next for a medium that knows no bounds. You’ll also find seven exclusive masterclasses in which their photographers offer invaluable advice and reveal their inspirations.
