Movies Like Kingsman

We all love our action movies. But when the movie has expertly mixed humour with solid performances of action from the cast? Perfection. This is why the first Kingsman movie, Kingsman: The Secret Service, was turned into an instant action-comedy hit.

1. The Hitman’s Bodyguard

The hitman’s bodyguard was released in 2017 and runs for a total of 118 minutes. A seamless blend of action comedy and thriller, the story follows a world-class bodyguard whose new client was a hitman. The bodyguard must escort his client safely to the International Court in Prague. They collaborate to make it to the trial in time despite their differences.

Set in 21st century England, the movie showcases different European locations as the duo find their way to the International Court despite all odds. The movie is captivating and tense but humorous and funny similar to Kingsman. 

2. Spy

Spy was released in 2015 and has a duration of 120 minutes. This action-comedy film follows the story of a desk-bound CIA analyst who puts his hand up for a tricky undercover mission. The unorthodox secret agent must infiltrate the world of deadly arms dealers as she tries to trace and recover a stolen nuclear device.

Spy is similar to Kingsman, categorised as an action/ thriller comedy. It is a funny parody as an unlikely agent delves into the world of espionage. The movie can be watched during girls’ night and appeals to teenagers.

3. Mr & Mrs Smith

Mr & Mrs Smith was released in 2005 and is 120 minutes long. The story follows a seemingly happily married couple with secrets underneath the surface. The facade of happiness is destroyed when the rival secret agencies of Mr and Mrs Smith discover that they are married. As a result, they are assigned a new mission: To kill their spouse.

The nerve-wracking, suspenseful action movie is hilarious with witty one-liners. The blend of comedy and action is smooth and exciting, making it very comparable to Kingsman.

It can be watched during a girls’ night, a boys’ night, or date night. The movie appeals to teenagers and young adults.

4. The Spy Who Dumped Me

The Spy Who Dumped Me hit the screens in 2018 with a run time of 117 minutes. The story follows two best friends who unwittingly get dragged into an international spy conspiracy. When one of the women discovers her boyfriend, who dumped her, was a spy, they go on an adventure to stop an essential artefact from getting into the wrong hands.  

The Spy Who Dumped Me is an thrilling action-comedy movie with suspense and bouts of humour. Similar to Kingsman, the movie’s plot includes undercover themes and conspiracy. This movie is perfect for a get together with the girls. 

5. London Has Fallen

London Has Fallen was released in 2016 with a run time of 99 minutes. The storyline follows a Secret Service Agent who has to find a way to escape with his team when a terrorist attacks the world leaders attending the British prime minister’s funeral.

Set in contemporary England, London Has Fallen is intense and realistic with secret service and conspiracy plots similar to Kingsman. It appeals to a young male audience and would be watched during a boys’ night.

6. The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. was released in 2015 and has a duration of 116 minutes. The storyline of this hilarious movie follows two secret service agents, a CIA agent and a KGB operative from different countries.

These reluctant agents have to work side by side to thwart the plans of a criminal organisation that plans to use nuclear weapons. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is witty and suspenseful, just like Kingsman.

7. RED

RED was released in 2010 and is 111 minutes long. The action-comedy thriller shares similarities to Kingsman with its spy and secret agent plot. RED’s storyline follows a black-ops agent whose peaceful life is being threatened. In a bid to survive the threats on his life by a high-tech assassin, he reassembled his old team to uncover his assailants.

The style of RED is humorous and exciting, a perfect blend of comedy and action like Kingsman. It appeals to a younger audience and would be an excellent movie for a boys’ night.

8. Knight And Day

Knight and Day was released in 2010 with a duration of 109 minutes. This hilarious movie falls under the Action, Adventure and Comedy genres similar to Kingsman. The story follows a young woman entangled with a lethal operative after an unlikely encounter. This encounter sucks her into his life of adventures, some exciting and other deadly. With shifting alliances and surprising betrayals, she has to determine whether or not he can be trusted.

Knight and Day is an exciting movie with suspenseful plots. The movie appeals to a younger audience and is suitable for a girls’ or boys’ night, or even a date night.

9. Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Kingsman: The Golden Circle was released in 2017 and runs for 141 minutes. The sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service, it does justice to the blend of action and comedy the prequel had. 

There’s an attack on the Kingsman headquarters with the rise of a new villain. This attack forces the surviving agents to work with an American agency known as the Statesman to take down a ruthless drug cartel.
